You will need a cat carrier to take it home in, both a food and water bowl and a litter box. It is highly recommended that you have 1 more litter box than the amount of cats that you have. We found this to be extremely true as we currently have 5. (3, self cleaning (we found clumping litter with immediate odor control works amazing in these once your kitten is old enough) and 2 regular X-Large size boxes for plenty of options). Also, if you have more than one-story, it is recommended you have a litter box for every story your kitten will be allowed on. The same goes for a bigger 1-story house. 1 litter box for each end of the home, unless you have 1 in the middle. Most times kittens need one closer to the area they are in so that they are set up for success. They will also need a scratching post for their scratching needs. They are less expensive at stores such as Walmart, Ross, Big Lots, Amazon, etc. You can also buy a cat tower, condo with the scratching post. Cats love to be up high and if you do not give them their own space they will find high spaces on their own. They like to be able to feel safe and look down on what is happening. (We currently have 2 at the moment for our big cats & 3 in our kitten nursery). They will also need a grooming comb/brush. We highly recommend the self cleaning slicker brush and furminator or the de-matting comb. All 3 can be found on Amazon, reasonably priced. We will tell you what kind of kitten food they are on and give you a small bag of it with the name written on it, if you chose to purchase more. Otherwise, you will need to slowly incorporate what you would like to feed them into what they are currently on, so they do not get an upset stomach. Cats love free-flowing water bowl as well. It is a myth cats don't like to drink water. We have 2 X-large water bowls and 5 free-flowing water, as our ragdolls love to drink water. For their food, we have 4 automatic feeders & 2 X-Large regular free flowing feeders as well as we feed them all wet food with their daily vitamins in them. As kittens, you will want to leave dry kitten food out for them at all times. They will not overeat. (Remember they are muscular cats!) They do love tunnels and toys. But, we assure you all kittens and cats alike will find things to play with regardless. One of their favorite things to play with is the feather wand toy! It is an endless amount of fun for both you and your kitten! A lot of laughing moments and pictures will follow! They also love bags and boxes. We will often find them in a box, no matter the size just because it is something new to play in.
Also, while it is not required, it is encouraged to have some kind of Cat bed or hiding home for them. They love going here and feel safe. It is very common to find your kitten here, if they are not following you around!
